Sean Kawanami, Young Composer

Sean Kawanami is a senior at Northwood High School in Irvine, California. He studies composition with Ian Krause, classical piano with Nancy Woo and jazz piano with Jeremy Siskind. Sean also performs in the jazz band, wind symphony, and in a choral ensemble at Northwood High School. As a member of the MTAC Young Composers Guild, his works are presented at the Music Teachers’ Association of California Convention. Sean’s interests include camping, hiking and traveling. Sean’s pursuit of his education in music composition furthers his goal of becoming part of the professional community of musicians and composers.
